The early childhood (EC) programme is the jewel of OYIS. It is always heart-warming to see 3-5 year olds come to school and learn how to exist in this world with others. In 2016, we built a modern facility specifically designed for preschool and kindergarten students. The EC programme is part of our International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). The EC programme uses a teaching and learning method called play-based learning. Through play and high levels of engagement, children learn about themselves, the world around them and a wide variety of age appropriate skills like early literacy and numeracy. It is a highly creative programme with a great deal of exploration and discovery.
Creative and engaging learning activities that match your child’s interests await every EC student. A lot of work goes into making learning stations around EC classrooms that children enjoy but that also teach them important things.
The EC building was specially built with our littlest learners in mind. It is a place that is both safe and fun for their developmental needs. We are constantly adding resources to this facility to make it ever more engaging.
Highly qualified, passionate and energetic teachers design formative and fun learning environments for EC students every day. They help young learners to understand school life and to live in harmony with each other. Every class has an assistant teacher.
